My home and garden are filled with sunflowers right now and it brings me so much joy. I planted my first sunflower seeds 32 years ago and I haven’t stopped since. 🌻🌻🌻

Summer 2026 Substack is up! The Scent of Stress (it’s about trees and middle aged women). A simple peach tart recipe and thoughts on the threshold between a childhood ending and a young adult life beginning.

It was a successful summer harvest, but this fall I think I’m going to only grow flowers. Life is feeling very full and busy now that I have started graduate school.

This is from a few weeks ago when I staked up up my peas. My tomatoes in my other bed are now about 2 feet tall! I staked them up today and planted my beloved zinnias and roselle seeds. I’m STILL waiting on my poppies, but they coming along. In the meantime, I’m dreaming of tomato sandwiches on sourdough bread this summer!
